What We Like About You - Quote of the Month

A 2nd grade boy in one of our School Mentor programs asked for a "Big Sister" because he doesn't have a mom in his life. Strolling around the school grounds with his new Big Sister, he proudly introduced her to everyone, saying,

"This is my Big Sister Lynda - she's 54!"

(Fortunately, Lynda has a great sense of humor!)

"In the three years that I have participated in the Big Brothers Big Sisters school based mentoring program, I have had so many memorable and rewarding moments. To know that I am making a positive difference in a boy's life is one of the best feelings ever!"

Big Sister of the Year Judi Piatanesi

Judi has been matched with her "Little" Courtney for 6 1/2 yrs. Said Judi, "Courtney has become part of the family and we do just about everything together." Recently Judi's son got married and Courtney played a large part in the wedding planning and was even in the wedding ceremony.

Gardening With My Sisters Project

Want to Help Plant Seeds of Success?

Big sister Gail Wilczynski is working on an exciting project with her two little sisters and their friends.  They are looking for strategic support.

Gail used the philosophy of VISION ♥ PLAN ♥ ACTION to encourage her little sisters to build a garden at Herbert Green Middle School in Placerville.  The garden was a great success and is now the focal point of their Big Sister/Little Sister interactions. (read more...)
