Nashville, Tennessee, April 30, 2018 –

The Nexus Group, Tennessee’s largest locally owned and managed technology, security and network services company, continues to evolve and adapt to market forces that include an increased focus on our customers cyber security needs.

David Proctor has been recently named Chief Revenue Officer with The Nexus Group.  David believes the small and business market is responding to managed networks and applying security in response to ever increasing threats to the SMB space. “The small business is low hanging fruit for cyber criminals – we’re seeing an immediate, local threat in two different strains of ransomware.” David also states his clients have told him “there’s no one in the technology space doing everything we do today”.  He cites an example of a regional bank required by their Board to vet new vendors, but couldn’t find another local provider that offered a similar scope of products and services. The Nexus Group provides managed networks, colocation/cloud/virtualization, business continuity/disaster recovery and managed security with local support.

David has built a new team to support the business growth surrounding cyber security needs, hiring Jenny Barnes as Executive Account Manager to run the account management and marketing support functions. The Nexus Group also hired Todd Ballard and John Miser, Senior Account Directors, to drive business development and support client needs, focused on security and technology services.

Stephen Baird continues in the role of Chief Operating Officer.  Stephen’s background will be instrumental in the growth of the Nexus security practice supporting Nexus customers.  Prior to joining The Nexus Group, Stephen was the Director of Information Risk Management accountable for risk management and technology support to the Executive Office of the President of the United States, serving the White House, Executive Residence, Office of the Vice President and other EOP entities.
